The file 'Muyshondt et al. - Data and code.zip' contains 2 subfolders:
- Middle-ear vibration experiments
- Rooster audio recordings
The 'Middle-ear vibration experiments' folder contains 2 additional subfolders:
- Acoustic crosstalk data
- Vibration data
# Acoustic crosstalk data
- 'acoustic_crosstalk_analysis.m' is a Matlab script that analyses the acoustic crosstalk during the vibration experiments.
- 'calculate_fourier_spectrum.m' is a Matlab function calculates the frequency components of a certain time signal. The file is called in 'acoustic_crosstalk_analysis.m'.
- 'RxR_pressure_comparison_EC_FP.mat' is a Matlab data file containing the acoustic crosstalk data from specimen x during the experiments. A single such file is called in 'acoustic_crosstalk_analysis.m'.
# Vibration data
- 'LDV_analysis_H1R_H2R_H3L.m' is a Matlab script that analyses the footplate vibration response of the vibration experiments. Only to be used for specimens H1R, H2R or H3L.
- 'LDV_analysis.m' is a Matlab script that analyses the footplate vibration response of the vibration experiments. To be used for specimens EXCEPT H1R, H2R or H3L.
- 'calculate_fourier_spectrum.m' is a Matlab function calculates the frequency components of a certain time signal. The file is called in 'acoustic_crosstalk_analysis.m'.
- 'Bruel&KjaerMicSensitivityCalibration.mat' is a Matlab data file containing the calibration curve of the B&K microphones. The file is called in 'LDV_analysis_H1R_H2R_H3L.m' and 'LDV_analysis.m'.
- 'HxR_closed.mat' is a Matlab data file containing the footplate vibration and ear canal pressure data in hen (replace 'H' with 'R' for rooster) number x with beak closed (replace 'closed' with 'open' for open beak). A single such file is called in 'LDV_analysis_H1R_H2R_H3L.m' or 'LDV_analysis.m'.
# Rooster audio recordings
- 'audio_analysis.m' is a Matlab script that analyses the sound pressure of the audio recordings.
- 'calibration_smallmicrophone_calibrated.mat' is a Matlab data file containing the calibration curve of the microphone used to record the rooster vocalizations. The file is called in 'audio_analysis.m'.
- 'crowingRooster.wav' is a wave file containing a single vocalization signal of a rooster. The file is called in 'audio.analysis.m'.
