Abstract
This dataset integrates multi-source data for analyzing the distribution patterns of sexual and asexual lineages of the cotton aphid, Aphis gossypii. The core component comprises simulated Ecoclimatic Indices (EI) and Growth Indices (GI) generated using the CLIMEX model (Version 4.0.2, Hearne Scientific Software) for both a historical baseline period (1995) and a future climate scenario (2100). The model was calibrated through an iterative process, culminating in the use of 22 parameters for the sexual lineage and 17 parameters for the asexual lineage to achieve an optimal fit between the projected and documented species distributions.
To support model validation and parameterization, the dataset incorporates two auxiliary data components: Firstly, geographical data on the overwintering areas of A. gossypii in China, coupled with multi-decadal field-collected egg count data (presented as mean ± standard error). This validation data spans key regions in China, including Henan, Hebei, Jiangsu, Hubei, Shaanxi, and Xinjiang, with records ranging from 1956 to 2019. Secondly, georeferenced occurrence data for the primary host plants of the sexual lineage of A. gossypii. These data were sourced from the Global Biodiversity Information Facility (GBIF) and were spatially rarefied using the Spatially Rarefy Occurrence Data tool in ArcGIS to minimize spatial autocorrelation. This process resulted in a final set of 120 spatially independent points that accurately represent the geographic range and climatic zones of the recorded occurrences.
