Abstract
A macrofungal exploration of two different states of India (Uttarakhand and Sikkim) has revealed interesting agaricus species belonging to the genus Phlegmacium (Cortinariaceae). Phlegmacium didnaense is proposed here as a new species, whereas P. ophiopus and P. largum are reported for the first time from India. All three taxa are morphologically described and with molecular phylogenetic estimations.

Description of the data and file structure
Sequence alignment and Phylogenetic analysis
The ITS sequences of the newly described Cortinarius species plus close relatives were retrieved from a nBLAST search against GenBank (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/genbank), UNITE database (https://unite.ut.ee), BOLD SYSTEMS (https://boldsystems.org/), and relevant published phylogenies. The ITS dataset was aligned using the online version of the multiple sequence alignment program MAFFT v. 7
(https://mafft.cbrc.jp/alignment/software/) with the L-INS-i strategy. The alignment was manually checked and trimmed with the conserved motifs in MEGA v. 7.

Description: The ITS dataset was aligned using the online version of the multiple sequence alignment program MAFFT v. 7
The combined dataset was phylogenetically analyzed using maximum likelihood (ML) by the IQ-tree tool v. 2.2.2.6 158, employing TPM2u+F+I+R2 (BIC) as the best model identified by ModelFinder. Additionally, ultrafast bootstrap with 1,000 replicates was applied to obtain nodal support values. Gaps in the alignment were treated as missing data in the phylogenetic analyses.
