Whole genome sequence data of Mycobacterium tuberculosis and Mycolicibacterium smegmatis mutants of the riboflavin biosynthetic pathway- Part 1

Abstract

This dataset contains raw whole-genome sequencing data (FASTQ files) for wild-type and riboflavin biosynthetic gene deletion mutants of Mycobacterium tuberculosis and Mycolicibacterium smegmatis. These strains were generated to investigate the source of metabolic antigens recognized by mucosal-associated invariant T (MAIT) cells, which detect intermediates from the riboflavin biosynthetic pathway. To confirm successful gene deletions and rule out off-target effects, whole-genome sequencing was performed for each mutant and its corresponding wild-type strain. This dataset supports the verification of targeted genetic modifications and enables comparative genomic analyses related to MR1 antigen production in mycobacteria.
