Abstract
This SPSS 28 dataset comprises 45 cases and 156 variables. The study investigates the relationship between reported health, behavioral health, and psychosocial factors and the human-animal bond among working poor and poor pet owners experiencing potential housing insecurity. Additionally, it assesses whether these relationships are consistent with findings from prior research.

Description of the data and file structure
Data was collected at a local community organization that provides support to low-income pet owners and their animals. Once a person agreed to participate, they were interviewed using various scales chosen to represent the variables noted in the study’s objectives. The researcher also collected demographic information to include these variables in subsequent data analyses. Interviews lasted between 20 and 30 minutes.

The dataset consists of Human_animal_bond_health_outcomes_for_low_income_adults_Dryad_V2.sav file.
This dataset does not include any imputations, scoring, or statistical analyses. It represents the original, unprocessed data that served as the foundation for subsequent statistical work and analysis. Variables that were recoded for scoring purposes are indicated by an “r” at the end of the item name (e.g., FMWB1r). For detailed scoring procedures, please refer to the original manuscript. Several co-variants variables were deleted or anonymized per the requirements of the storing service.
