Abstract
Source code and dependent datasets used to model the perturbations to tropospheric ozone (O3) and methane (CH4) due to South Korean air pollution emissions. The modelling system consists of three stages: The boundary layer-residual (BL-RL) stage (BL-RL), plume (PL) stage, and dispersed pollution (DP) stage. The directory contains a modified version of F0AM v3.1, Emission inventories (KORUS v5, GFED5, and MEGAN v2.10), and processed datasets from ERA5, EDGAR, KORUS-AQ, and ATom.
A three-part modelling system of South Korean air pollution in the boundary layer and residual layer (BL-RL stage), transported offshore as pollution plumes (PL stage), and as dispersed perturbations to the background air (DP stage). Modelling_System.zip contains the source code run the modelling stages, and output from those runs, documented at [https://doi.org/10.5194/egusphere-2025-6012]. Running the model stages requires MATLAB (e.g. R2022A) and some datasets from the complementary Zenodo repository (F0AM_and_Inventories.zip). Extract the directories within F0AM_and_Inventories.zip to Modelling_System/Data/ before attempting to run the model components (e.g., Modelling_System/Data/KORUSV5)

Source/
Source code for running the model stages.
Output/
Location for saved output subdirectories generated by the BLRL model. Output subdirectories are used as input to the PL model and analysis tools.
Data/
Datasets used by the modelling system including ERA5, emissions inventories (KORUS-v5, GFED5, MEGAN v2.10, and EDGAR temporal scalings), chemical mechanisms from MCM v3.1.1 (Chem/ subdirectory), and observational datasets. Some of these datasets must be downloaded and extracted here from the complementary Zenodo repository (F0AM_and_Inventories.zip).
Analysis/
Tools for analysing the output subdirectory data. Scripts in this directory contain example input.
