Abstract

This dataset contains responses from a national survey of 1,123 participants conducted recently in Greece during a 12-month period. This extended dataset enables a more robust assessment of the adaptive capacity based on four key dimensions: (a) awareness of climate-related risks, (b) real-life experiences of extreme climatic events (i.e., wildfires, floods, droughts), (c) readiness to adopt more sustainable practices, and (d) evaluative perspectives on grassroots-level interventions. The data provide a representative overview of how Greek communities perceive and respond to climate change challenges and can be used for research on climate adaptation, policy planning, and sustainability studies. The questionnaire was originally administered in Greek. The present version is an English translation for the purpose of data sharing. It was designed to assess the adaptability of Greek communities to the climate crisis, examining demographics, perceptions of climate risks, direct experiences, preparedness, sustainable practices, and community resilience.
