Description of the data and file structure
This dataset contains genetic and behavioral data related to the parasitic nematode Sphaerularia bombi and its bumble bee hosts (Bombus spp.). The dataset includes COI haplotypes, nuclear rRNA genotypes, microsatellite genotypes, and mark-recapture experimental data collected from multiple geographic locations.
Files and variables
DataFile.xlsx
This file contains all of the data sheets described below.
DataFile_Sheet1.csv: This sheet contains COI haplotype data for 542 Sphaerularia bombi individuals.
- Host_species: Host species of the S. bombi individual
- Host_ID: Unique ID of the host
- Site, Region, Country: Geographic location where the host was captured
- COI_haplotype: COI haplotype of the S. bombi individual
DataFile_Sheet2.csv : This sheet contains nuclear rRNA genotype data for 166 Sphaerularia bombi individuals from the 542 S. bombi individuals listed in Sheet 1: COI_Haplotype.
- Host_species: Host species of the S. bombi individual
- Host_ID: Unique ID of the host
- Site, Region, Country: Geographic location where the host was captured
- COI_haplotype: COI haplotype of the S. bombi individual
- nuc_allele_1, nuc_allele_2: Nuclear rRNA genotype of the S. bombi individual. nuc_allele_2 is recorded only if the individual is heterozygous.
DataFile_Sheet3.csv: This sheet contains the accession numbers assigned by the DNA Data Bank of Japan (DDBJ) for each COI haplotype and nuclear rRNA genotype.
DataFile_Sheet4.csv: This sheet contains microsatellite (simple sequence repeat: SSR) genotype data for 354 bumble bee queen individuals.
- Species: Bumble bee species
- Bee_ID: Unique ID of the bee
- Site, Region, Country: Geographic location where the bee was captured
- Loc1_1, Loc1_2, etc.: SSR genotype for each SSR locus
DataFile_Sheet5.csv: This sheet contains information on the Bombus microsatellite markers used.
