Title Python code used to generate data to run the Step Selection Function

Description This python code allows the user to obtain the information needed to run a Step Selection Function. It generates random movements steps based on the frequency distribution of observed step lengths and turning angles, and calculates the following characteristics along those movement steps: proportion of different habitat types within user-defined buffers, habitat types at start and end points, number of gaps crossed, length of the step that takes place inside each habitat type and distance to a given feature.
