Description This file includes all data collected in the laboratory experiment assessing male and female contribution to offspring viability (experiment one in the publication). Data was collected by E.M. Droge-Young, M.K. Manier, S. Lüpold and S. Pitnick; additional questions should be directed to E.M. Droge-Young (emdroge@syr.edu). Data are in csv. format. Empty cells represent missing data (e.g., missing body size) whereas 0 is an informative value (e.g., 0% of eggs hatched) Specific variable information: Copulation duration is measured in minutes Hatch success represents the proportion of eggs that successfully hatched after at least 24 hours Development time is an average for each mating measured in days Posthatching viability represents the proportion of hatched offspring that successfully eclose as adults Thorax length is measured in millimeters
