Description Enchenopa treehoppers were reared from nymph to adult on replicated clone lines of their host plant Viburnum lentago. We then recorded male signals and constructed female mate preference functions from female responses to playback stimuli that varied in frequency. Male signal frequency was calculated from the signal waveform. Female peak preference was determined from each female's preference function. The columns denote the clone line and replicate that each treehopper developed on, an individual identifcation number, and the signal frequency or peak preference for each male or female, respectively, in hertz.
