Description Mites and beetles were provided with a carcass; beetles were either N. vespilloides (Nvs) or N. vespillo (Nvo); mites were either P. carabi (Pvs), P. necrophori (Pvo) ore none; size refers to elytral width of males (m) and females (f); we measured when the beetles emerged from the crypt, the number and weight of the beetle offspring, and number of mites on beetle parents and elsewhere (beetle offspring).
