Description The file contains averaged cell counts for estrogen receptor alpha immunoreactivity in males and females of four species of Peromyscus. Two that are socially monogamous, P. californicus and P. polionotus and two polygynous, P. maniculatus and P. leucopus. ER alpha immunoreactive cells counts are presented from five regions of the brain, medial amygdala, bed nucleus of the stria terminalis, medial preoptic area, arcuate nucleus, and ventriomedial hypothalamus.
