Description Data collected in the laboratory on the effects of facultative symbiont Hamiltonella defensa in pea aphids (Acyrthosiphon pisum) on parasitism by two parasitoid species (Aphidius ervi and Aphelinus abdominalis). ‘Block’ is the temporal block in which the experiment was carried out; ‘Clone’ is the aphid clone code; ‘Hamiltonella’ refers to the presence of the symbiont Hamiltonella defensa (‘Yes’ = present, ‘No’=cured); ‘Wasp’ gives the genus of the parasitoid; ‘Plant’ is the biotype of the aphid.
