Description Individual genotypes from 24 individuals from the White recessive breed, 39 individuals from three breeds of red canary (Lipochrome red, n = 25; Portuguese Harlequin, n = 9; Black red, n = 5) and 22 individuals from four breeds of yellow canary (Lipochrome yellow, n = 5; Waterslager, n = 3; Gibber italicus, n = 10; Black yellow, n = 4). We used 39 SNPs located within and flanking our candidate region – 38 randomly chosen from the whole genome resequencing data plus the splice-donor site mutation detected in SCARB1.
