Description This excel file contains data associated with the paper titled "Baby fish working out: An epigenetic source of adaptive variation in the cichlid jaw". The first tab contains cichlid larvae gaping frequency (times/minute) during early developmental stages (6 days to 10 days post fertilization) in three Lake Malawi cichlid species (LF, MZ and TT). The second tab contains results of the gaping manipulation experiment in MZ. The third tab contains results of the interopercle-mandibular ligament surgery in LF.
