Contents ### This folder contains coloration data from Pipraeidea melanonota ### ### The file "Pipraeidea_melanonota_museum_skins_and_patches_measured" contains the details of the museum skins measured and the information to understand the the names of the individuals and the patches measured (see below). ### ### The two files named reflectance_spectra_measurements_pipraeidea_melanonota contain the reflectance spectra measurements for the 26 males and 10 females of P. m. melanonota and 14 males and 13 females of P. m. venezuelensis we measured. These files can be used to run the analyses in the pavo package. Note that each individual was measured three times (see supplementary information of the manuscript por details), so there are 12 columns per individuals (four patches p1–p4, three measurements a–c each). The acronyms pmm and pmv correspond to the suspecies P. m. melanonota and P. m. venezuelensis, respectively, and the letters m and f indicate whether the individual was a male (m) or a female (f). The numbers next to these acronyms indicate the individual (see file "Pipraeidea_melanonota_museum_skins_and_patches_measured" to know which museum skin corresponds to each individual). ### ### The two files named spectral_variables_pipraeidea_melanonota contain the raw values of the four spectral variables (hue, mean brightness, ultraviolet (UV) chroma and overall chroma) measured for each plumage patch using the pavo package. ###
