Abstract

These two NetCDF files are the simulation output from a two-dimensional cross-sectional mode of GETM. They contain the tidal hydrodynamics data for an idealized partially stratified estuary composed of a deep channel with and without expansive shallow shoal regions. To be consistent with the existing structure of the code, the cross section of the estuary lies in the x-z plane, where x is the across-estuary (lateral) direction and z is the vertical direction. All gradients in the along-estuary direction (y) are assumed to vanish except for the longitudinal barotropic and baroclinic pressure gradients. There are four grid points in the y direction, with the outter (j=1, 4) set to NaN and the two inner ones being independent on j
