This zipped file contains ASCII files associated with the spatial environmental layers used in Maxent analyses for northern bobwhite (Colinus virginianus) and scaled quail (Callipepla squamata) broods and non-brooding adults to estimate habitat suitability indices. ASCII files are represented at a 30 meter resolution. All ASCII files are representative of the environmental layers retained after second order Maxent analyses though have not yet been vetted through correlation analyses or by removing poorly contributing (i.e., 5% or less contribution to model accuracy gain of the Maxent model) variables. NOTE: Zip file was created using 7-Zip version 18.05. Spatial reference: GCS_WGS_1984 Description of environmental layers: 2013ndvimask.asc: NDVI layer created from July 2013 aerial imagery of study site. area_cv1.asc: The coefficent of variation in patch size for the mixed shrub vegetation type. Calculated through FRAGSTATS. contagion.asc: The contagion index. Calculated through FRAGSTATS. dist23.asc: Distance (m) to restricted access WMA roads (truck and all-terrain vehicle [ATV] access). dist24.asc: Distance (m) to restricted access WMA roads (ATV traffic only). dist2cy.asc: Distance (m) to county roads. dist2oil.asc: Distance (m) to oil/gas structures. dist2wat.asc: Distance (m) to surface water. dist2wmar.asc: Distance (m) to primary WMA roads. ed.asc: Total landscape edge density (m/ha). vegnibble30m.asc: Vegetation types (Classes are defined as [1] mixed shrub, [2] sand sagebrush, [3] mixed-grass, [4] short-grass/yucca, [5] sparse vegetation, [6] bare ground, [7] salt cedar, [9] open water, [10] developed areas, and [11] agriculture/food plot).
