Note; Data is only available for purposes related to this study, not for any unintended purposes A gel representing restriction fragment length digestion ALAD isozymes Following the successful DNA extraction from blood samples, polymerase chain reaction and later on restriction fragment length digestion for ALAD polymorphism, the following gel presented in figure1 below was observed under UV transillumination. Of the 198 samples 176 had single band (ALAD1-1) and are represented by lanes 2, 21 samples came out with two band (ALAD1-2) and are represented by lanes 4. Finally, out of all the study samples only one had single band corresponding to ALAD2-1 (512bp) represented by lane 3 A restriction fragment length digestion representing ALAD isozymes. Lane M = 1Kb marker, Lane 1 = un-digested PCR product with 881 bp, Lanes 2 represents ALAD1-1 allele (583bp) fragment, Lane 3 represents ALAD2-1 allele with 512-bp fragment and lane 4 represents allele ALAD1-2 (has both 583-bp and a 512-bp fragments, while Lane 5 represents a negative control.
