Description of the data set This data set was collected by Biogeoclimate modeling lab (principal investigator prof. Miska Luoto) for studying high latitude ecosystems. The data set consists of 1200 study sites, which have four 1 meter x 1 meter study plots situated 5 meters from the center of the study site. The data set records occurrence status of 200 vascular plant species. The data set has records for environmental and climatic variables. Species names have been hidden to respect the data collectors' request. Species are names Sp1, Sp2,..., Sp200. 2. METHODOLOGICAL INFORMATION The occurrence of vascular plant species have been recorded with in-situ field surveys. Environmental and climatic variables have been derived for each study plot from remotely sensed areal data sets (such as Landsat), digital elevation models and soil mappings. More detailed descriptions of the methods for creating the data set are presented by Niittynen and Luoto (2018; https://doi.org/10.1111/ecog.03348).
