Data files used for the study "Stimulus salience as an explanation for imperfect mimicry", by Baharan Kazemi, Gabrielle Gamberale-Stille, Birgitta S. Tullberg and Olof Leimar. The package includes 3 data files (tab separated text files): File: discr_train_data.txt The file contains the number of attacks on rewarded (non-model) artificial prey, out of the first 8 (or sometimes less) attacks in a trial. Column headings: Individual - Bird label Colour - the color of the model prey Pattern - the pattern on the model prey Shape - the shape of the model prey ModelType - indicates the color-pattern-shape combination of the model prey Trial - trial number (1 to 4) of the discrimination learning Attack8 - number of attacks (of the first 8) on non-model, rewarded prey Max8 - either 8 or the max number of attacks (if fewer than 8) File: generalisation_data.txt The file contains the number of attacks on rewarded (non-model) artificial prey, out of the first 4 attacks in a trial. Column headings: Individual - Bird label ModelType - indicates the type of the original model from training MimicType - the kind of mimic prey, in relation to the model from training Attack4 - number of attacks (of the first 4) on non-mimic, rewarded prey Max4 - always 4 attacks (in co case was there fewer than 4) File: salience_data.txt The file contains the number of attacks on rewarded artificial prey, out of the first 12 (or sometimes less) attacks in a trial. Column headings: Individual - Bird label Discr - type of discrimination task: Colour, Pattern or Shape Trial - trial number (1 to 6) of the discrimination learning Attack12 - number of attacks (of the first 12) on rewarded prey Max12 - either 12 or the max number of attacks (if fewer than 12)
