Abstract

These files are based on climate change data sets from ISMIP (www.isimip.org). They are land-only versions of tas, tasmin and tasmax data. The full data sets can be downloaded ISIMIP.org using this link https://doi.org/10.48364/ISIMIP.842396.1.

Each file consists of average (tas), maximum temperature (tasmax) or minimum temperature (tasmin data for one of 3 20-year datasets (1991-2020, 2041-2060, and 2081-2100) for five earth system models (ESMs) - ESM4, UKESM1-0-LL, MPI-ESM1-2-HR, MRI-ESM2-0, and IPSL-CM6A-LR. The original datasets are 10 years of daily data. These versions combine 20 years of data for one variable for one of the ESMs.

These files should be used in conjunction with the code and the description of its use at 10.5281/zenodo.7539023.

Methods

The climate data set, consisting of 52 geotiff files, was created by ISIMIP (www.isimip.org) from climate data prepared for CMIP6 by 5 earth system models, known by their acronyms - GFDL-ESM4, UKESM1-0-LL, MPI-ESM1-2-HR, MRI-ESM2-0, and IPSL-CM6A-LR). They have been combined into 20 years of daily data and include only values for land areas. The data also includes a zip file of intermediate results that can also be generated from the R code but takes a very long time to generate.

Usage notes

The climate data files are geott.
