Abstract
Study highlights ecological consequences of behavioural thermoregulation in ectotherms. This behaviour altered microhabitat utilization and population parameters in aphids. Thermoregulatory behaviour prevented the aphids from experiencing heat stress. It concurrently resulted in decreased survival and reproduction. This behaviour impacts microhabitat occupation and demographic rates in ectotherms.
