Abstract

This dataset contains all gathered spatial data for moose occurrence in our study area (see manuscript). In the table you can find these attributes: country of the occurrence, data quality according to SCALP classification, details about occurrence, coordinates for used S-JTSK (5514) reference system, locality and year of the record.

Methods

This dataset was prepared from many others for our study area. The aim was to gather all available spatial data for moose population in this region. Data on moose occurrence were gathered from local stakeholders, regional administrations, hunters, scientists, the public and through an extensive literature search of zoological databases (GeneDBase, zoological records, Web of Science, Czech National Database of Fauna-Flora Records [NDOP]), questionnaires filled out by hunting organisations for the Ministry of Environment of the Czech Republic, local scientific and hunters’ journals and web pages.
