The data zip file contains subfolders with lsm files in them. There is one excel table that contains metadata and describes which lsm files were used in each figure. GOF = "goodness of fit" and refers to the R-square value for fitting either a Gaussian (for Dl) or a canonical peak (for genes). sV,sD = ventral, dorsal border of the gene as decided by the location of half maximum of the best-fit canonical peak. For dl heterozygous embryos, it was a historical accident that some embryos were excluded from some analyses. So not all sets of (qualified) embryos were included in all Figures in the paper. Post-hoc analysis showed that including all embryos does not change any of our conclusions (and even makes some stronger). Some of the imaged dl/+; Tlrv18/+ embryos had very poor quality and were not included. They were excluded based on a quantitative filter: that the average of the normalized total Dl gradient from x = 0.5 to x = 1 should not exceed 0.1. To be consistent, all other embryos included in the analyses with dl/+; Tlrv18/+ were subject to the same filter.
