Data from: Euconodont hard tissue: preservation patterns of the basal body Thomas J. Suttner, Erika Kido This dataset contains a three-dimensional synchrotron x-ray microtomographic dataset of the basal body of coniform element NHMW 2018/0146/0001 from the Changyang section, Hubei, China. The data accompanies the following paper: Suttner, T.J and Kido, E. 2019. Euconodont hard tissue: preservation patterns of the basal body. Palaeontology. https://doi.org/10.1111/pala.12438 The specimen is housed at the Natural History Museum in Vienna. The entire data stack (2048 tif images) is supplied here in 4 parts. Specimen NHMW 2018/0146/0001 was scanned at the European Synchrotron Radiation Facility (ESRF) in Grenoble (beamline ID19). Critical energy of the synchrotron microtomography beam used was 17.6 keV. Voxel size is 0.28 micron. Propagation distance for phase contrast was 13 mm. See Goudemand et al. 2011 (https://doi.org/10.1073/pnas.1101754108) for further details of processing method.
