This folder contains all results data shown in the paper "Extreme climate events counteract the effects of climate and land-use changes in Alpine treelines", by Barros et al. 2016. The "Rscripts" folder contains the necessary scripts to reproduce the figures and statistical analyses described in the paper. To run them, the user should simply provide the adequate folder directories. The scripts will automatically access the data present in each scenario folder and compile it/treat it for futher analysis. Scripts: - Betadiv_plots & Betadiv_dataPrep: plots of beta diveristy temporal/spatial turnover - CWMsoil_slope_ras_ & CWMsoil_ras_dataPrep & CWMsoil_slope_ras_PLOTS: estimating and plotting changes in community soil moisture preference across the forest-grassland ecotone. - SpeedElev & SpeedElev_dataPrep: analyses of rates of shrubland and forest expansion Each scenario folder contains: -Beta_div: spatial and temporal beta-diversity estimates - ClosHabs_elev_rasters: data on the rate of shrubland and forest expansion (in subfolder Elev_stats) and rasters of grassland, shrubland and forest habitats used to produce it (Allhabs.tar) - when DO.STATS = TRUE in SpeedElev.R script - EcotoneBuffers: rasters delimiting the forest-grassland ecotone - TRAITS_spaceDOM1: community weighted mean trait values of soil moisture preference per pixel of the forest-grassland ecotone
