Readme file B Ð Kooyers et al. 2017 This is a comma delimited file (.csv) which contains phenotype data for 407 M. guttatus and M. alsinoides individuals surveyed in field populations across an elevation gradient. Data was collected by Nic Kooyers in April and June 2015. Each row of this spreadsheet represents an individual plant. Questions? Please contact Nic Kooyers (nkooyers@gmail.com). Column A: species Ð plant was either M. alsinoides or M. guttatus. Column B: pop Ð the population where the individual was located. Column C: elevation Ð the elevation of the population. (m) Column D: climatePC1 Ð the population value on the climate principle component axis 1. Column E: community Ð either both species were located within a population (sympatry) or only one of the species was located within this population (allopatry) Column F: plant Ð individual plant ID within a given population. Column G: Nflowers Ð Number of flowers when plant was initially identified and tagged in April 2015. Column H: flowering Ð If the plant was flowering when identied and tagged in April 2015. Column I: soildepth Ð the soil depth below a plant before hitting bare rock. Maximum value was 19.2cm. Plants with a 0 value were attached to exposed rock. (cm) Column J: NflowersEnd Ð Number of flowers at the end of the growing season for M. alsinoides in June 2015. Counts were only made for previously surveyed M. alsinoides that were able to be relocated. Column K: plantheightEnd Ð plant height at the end of the growing season for M. alsinoides in June 2015. Counts were only made for previously surveyed M. alsinoides that were able to be relocated. Column L: pedlength Ð peduncle length for first flower (flower off main stem closes to base of plant). Measurements were made for M. alsinoides only.
