# EYE MOVEMENT README This zip file contains the raw eye-movement data recorded from the eye-tracker as subjects performed a variant of the memory-guided saccade. Directory structure: —SubjectID (Five digit code) ——Session (Encrypted hash string that corresponds to a particular date) ———EyeData —————Data files (ASL format .eyd files and equivalent .txt) N.B. The final digit in the files names correspond the the fMRI run number. Each row of the .txt file corresponds to a sample recorded from the eye-tracker. The eye-tracker samples at 60Hz, so each sample describes events at 16.7ms intervals. There are four columns in each eye-movement text file: Column 1: XDAT codes used to signify what kind of task event is occurring at each instant. Column 2: Pupil diameter in ASL scale Column 3: Horizontal gaze coordinate Column 4: Vertical gaze coordinate Trial type acronyms: Presentation interval: PI Delay interval: DI There are two main classes of events in the MGS task, trials and fixation intervals. All events in the MGS task are comprised of three parts: 1) an onset; 2) a transition; and 3) an end. Each of these parts for each class of event are signified by a unique number stored in the XDAT column. XDAT Code Key: 20: The onset of a Long PI, short DI trial 30: The onset of a Long PI, long DI trial 40: The onset of a Long PI, long DI trial 50: The onset of a Long PI, long DI trial 60: The onset of a fixation interval N.B. for the following codes, [1-6] means that any integer between 1 and 6 can appear at in an XDAT code. These numbers correspond to one of six possible target locations, in order, from left to right. (See manuscript). 12[1-6]: The presentation of the target for a long PI, short DI trial 13[1-6]: The presentation of the target for a Long PI, long DI trial 14[1-6]: The presentation of the target for a Long PI, long DI trial 15[1-6]: The presentation of the target for a Long PI, long DI trial 160: The transition of a fixation interval (in practice this means nothing) 250: Signifies the end of any class of event.
