# Allelic diversity for neutral markers retains a higher adaptive potential for quantitative traits than expected heterozygosity Dataset from the experimental study ## FILES - Genotypes_Lines_Base_Population.txt Genotypic data (Genepop 3-digit format) for nine microsatellite loci at generation 50 of the 20 lines maintenance. 40 individuals sampled per line (LineX_g50, where X is a number between 1 and 20) as well as 100 individuals sampled from the large base population (Base_Population_g_136). Missing values coded as 000. - Genotypes_Synthetic_Populations.txt Genotypic data (Genepop 3-digit format) for nine microsatellite loci at generation 0 of selection (50 individuals per replicate and population type) and generation 8 (40 individuals for each replicate, population type and direction of selection) for the three population types (based on the optimization used to create the synthetic population: O_H, O_A or BP) and both directions of selection (upward or downward). Populations in the file are labeled following this pattern: Generation_Type_[Direction]_Replicate. Thus G0_O_A_4 stands for Generation 0 of replicate 4 for the O_A population, and G8_O_H_UP_3 stands for Generation 8 of upward selection for the replicate 3 of O_H population. Missing values coded as 000. ## CONTACT ABOUT THIS DATA PACKAGE: Armando Caballero, Dpto. de Bioquimica, Genetica e Inmunologia, Facultad de Biologia, Universidad de Vigo, 36310 Vigo, SPAIN Tel: +34 986 812 568.
