This readme file accompanies the Table: Male Eye and Antenna Morphology Worldwide Data set. The data in the table are the mean measurement values for eye and antenna measurements of 3 data sets (name): ksh: eye width was calculated as: 1/2 (maximum eye span - minimum inter-eye span); ksh2: measured from additional taxa in ksh collection and calculated; Ohba: extracted from figures in Ohba 1978 (original) and adjusted for differences in antenna measurements (scaled), based on the analysis of shared taxa between data sets. Definition of abbreviations used in column titles: N= sample size; Include= taxa without missing data; Comparison= shared taxa between ksh and Ohba data sets; Include= included in worldwide analysis; No doubles= eliminating doubles from data set; LD= 0: Dark (Pheromones only) versus 1: Light (Flashes and Glows); LDG=0: Dark (Pheromones only), 1: Flashes, 2: Glows; LDGW= 0: Dark (Pheromones only), 1: Flashes, 2: Glows, 3: Weak glows; LDGWL= 0: Dark (Pheromones only), 1: Flashes, 2: Glows, 3: Weak glows, 4: Loss of light (recent reversal to pheromones); EW: Eye width (mm), AL: Antenna length (mm), PL: Pronotum length (mm). * taxa names with recent taxonomic name changes (see Stanger-Hall et al. Supplement)
