Readme for data file “HomeRange_data.csv”, which includes home range areas and nearest neighbor distances for males of golden rocket frogs (Anomaloglossus beebei) and Kai rocket frogs (Anomaloglossus kaiei) Data from manuscript: JP Tumulty & MA Bee. Ecological and social drivers of neighbor recognition and the dear enemy effect in a poison frog. Behavioral Ecology Data collected by James Tumulty Columns: —ID: Unique identifier for each male —Year: Year the data was recorded —MCParea: Area of the home range in square meters. Home ranges were estimated using minimum convex polygons incorporating 100% of the male’s capture locations. —NNdist: Nearest neighbor distance, in meters. Nearest neighbor distances were computed as the distance from the centroid of a male’s capture locations to the centroid of his nearest neighbor’s capture locations. If a male did not have a neighbor within a surveyable area, NNdist was coded as NA. —Captures: Number of capture locations for a male. —Site: The name of the site that was surveyed for territorial males. —Species: Whether a male is a golden rocket frog ("beebei") or Kai rocket frog ("kaiei").
