Greetings! Thank you for your interest in our data. Below is a brief description of the data included in each file. Throughout, experimental water columns are labeled Towers 1-8, with Tower 1 being the lowest nutrient concentration input and each progressive number increasing in nutrient concentration input (Tower 8 has the highest nutrient concentration input). Depth can be labeled in meters or ports. Ports are spaced every 2.5 centimeters along the vertical dimension of the tower with port 1 being located at the water's surface and port 60 being located 2.5 centimeters above the bottom of the tower. Experiments were conducted in late 2006 into early 2007. light.csv - Light measured at the bottom of the water column (I_out) measured in micro mol photons m^-2 s^-1. nutrients.csv - phosphorus concentration in water column ( R) measured in micro g dissolved phosphorus L^-1. tower1.csv- biomass concentration in the water column (B) measured in cells mL^-1. (tower2-8.csv are the other towers) phys_and_stoich.csv- physiological and stoichiometric data measured in the water column. In the column headings, anything separated by a '.' should be read as the division sign (e.g. cells.ml is cells per mL). treatment is nutrient input micro g dissolved phosphorus L^-1 corresponding to tower number. depth is in meters. Chl is in micro g L^-1, as is P for phosphorus, N for nitrogen and C for carbon. If the column heading has 'moles' in it, it is the molar ratio.
