===================================================================================== ===================================================================================== Dataset: HFCs_Aspinicauda Heterozigosity-fitness correlations in a continental island population of Thorn-tailed Rayadito MS Reference Number: esaa056 (JOH-2020-108) MS Dryad ID: The whole dataset contains data for evaluating the relationship between individual heterozygosity and fitness-related traits in a population of Thorn-tailed rayadito (Aphrastura spinicauda) located in Fray Jorge National Park (PNFJ; 30º38’S, 71º40’W), north-central Chile. The data set is divided into four spreadsheets, which are explained below. ************************************************************************************* 1. AdultGenotypes (Multi-locus genotypes for all breeding adults): This spreadsheet contains genetic information on all captured and genotyped breeding adults. The ring number is used as an ID for each individual. The matrix includes information regarding the sex of each individual (F: female; M: male), and allele size (number of repeats) at 12 polymorphic microsatellite loci. ************************************************************************************* 2. Heterozygosity (Measures of MLH and SLH): This spreadsheet contains information on all genotyped breeding adults and measures of both multi-locus (MLH) and single-locus (SLH) heterozygosity. The matrix includes information regarding the year of first capture, the fragment ID where each bird was first captured, sex, and genetic information. This data matrix contains the following variables: VARIABLE DESCRIPTION ID Individual ID (ring number). Year Year when individual was first captured and genotyped. Fragment ID for the fragment where first capture took place. Sex F: female; M: male. HL Heterozygosity value using the HL index as a measure of MLH. md2 Heterozygosity value using the md2 index as a measure of MLH. LNmd2 Logarithm of the md2 index. Columns H–S SLH scores for each loci. 0: homozygous state; 1: heterozygous state. *NA: not available. ************************************************************************************* 3. ReprodSucc (Reproductive success data): This spreadsheet contains information on reproductive success for all captured individuals breeding in nestboxes in our study site. The matrix includes information regarding the breeding season, sex, age, nestbox ID, and measures of reproductive success. This data matrix contains the following variables: VARIABLE DESCRIPTION ID Individual ID (ring number). Year Year when individual was detected/captured. Box Nestbox ID. Sex F: female; M: male. Age 1: yearling; 2: adult. PairID Identity of the breeding pair. Laying Laying date (# of days after the date when the first egg in the population was laid). ClutchS Clutch size. HatcEgg Number of hatched eggs. NoFled Number of fledglings produced. MPatLoss Paternity loss (# of offspring in the nest sired by another male). MPatGain Paternity gain (# of extra-pair offspring sired by a male). MSiringS Total number of sired offspring for a given male. *NA: not available. ************************************************************************************* 4. CMRHistory (Capture-Mark-Recapture data): This spreadsheet contains information on CMR histories for all captured individuals breeding in nestboxes in our study site. The matrix includes information regarding sex and the capture history during 2008–2017. This data matrix contains the following variables: VARIABLE DESCRIPTION ID Individual ID (ring number). Sex F: female; M: male. CMR CMR history. 0: not sighted/not captured; 1: sighted/captured. ===================================================================================== Please address questions to: Esteban Botero D.
