Description: Explanatory variables from least-cost transect analysis (LCTA), cost distance analysis and resistance distance analysis. The displayed explanatory variables are from the best fitting overall model (i.e. migration habitat = agriculture, specialization factor = 15) Date of creation: April 2012 Programming: Maarten van Strien (maarten.vanstrien@wsl.ch, maarten@vstrien.nl) Least-cost paths and resistance distances have been calculated from a resistance surface with mh = agriculture and sf = 15. All the geodata is derived from a vectorized 1:25000 land cover map of Switzerland (Vector25© 2011 Swisstopo; DV033594). Column headings: Deme1: Code for the first deme of the deme pair. The coordinates of this deme are specified in a separate file. The order of the deme pairs is the same as the order of the deme pairs in the table with pairwise Fst values. Deme2: Code for the second deme in the deme pair. The coordinates of this deme are specified in a separate file. Transect_length: The length of the transect measured along the least-cost path along which the transect is directed. This is analogous to the potential effective distance. Streams: The proportion of streams in the transect (m2*m-2). Forest: The proportion of forest in the transect(m2*m-2). Residential: The proportion of residential areas in the transect(m2*m-2). Roads: The proportion of roads in the transect(m2*m-2). Agriculture: The proportion of agriculture in the transect(m2*m-2). Cost: The total accumulative cost of least-cost paths Resistance: The resistance value between each population pair as calculated by CIRCUITSCAPE (McRae 2006) McRae BH (2006) Isolation by resistance. Evolution, 60, 1551-1561.
