DOI:10.5061/dryad.ns1rn8prt DATA & FILE OVERVIEW 1. File List: DL_Full_DataPCs by PT_final_no PCsColumn Behavioural measures including activity, exploration, and boldness at 4 group sizes (1, 2, 4, 8) 2. Relationship between files, if important: N/A 3. Additional related data collected that was not included in the current data package: 4. Are there multiple versions of the dataset? No A. If yes, name of file(s) that was updated: i. Why was the file updated? ii. When was the file updated? METHODOLOGICAL INFORMATION 1. Description of methods used for collection/generation of data: Lizard behaviour was recorded using Panasonic HCV130 video recorders suspended above the test arena. Data was extracted from videos using JWatcher and recorded in Excel. 2. Methods for processing the data: Data was organized for each individual lizard by behaviour for each of the 4 group sizes in a csv file and imported for analyses 3. Instrument- or software-specific information needed to interpret the data: All videos were analysed using Jwatcher (Blumstein 2006) All statistical analysis was conducted using R version 3.3.2 (R Development Core Team 2016) using packages: lsmeans, MCMCglmm R package 4. Standards and calibration information, if appropriate: N/A 5. Environmental/experimental conditions: Assays were conducted within opaque experimental arenas (550 x 320 x mm and 240 mm high) located in a temperature-controlled room (20 °C). Each trial consisted of a 10- min acclimation period where lizards were placed within a clear plastic container followed by a 30- min test period. 6. Describe any quality-assurance procedures performed on the data: 7.
