The Neural Basis of Risky Choice with Affective Outcomes General note: Participant no. 18 had to be excluded from the fMRI data analysis due to scanning problems. Therefore, there are no functional MRI data provided. As the behavioral data were included in the behavioral analyses, participant 18’s choice data are listed in file „Trial List“. ################################################ ################## fMRI data ##################### ################################################ - some participants were not included in the fMRI analysis (see methods section of the paper) - folder structure: - all fMRI data are in zipped-nifti format (*.nii.gz) * each participant has its own participant folder (S1 - S23) * each participant folder contains one folder for each run of the fMRI experiment * each run-folder contains (a) the functional data func_data.nii.gz (b) a folder with registration-information * the folder with registration information contains all relevant files to perform a linear registration from EIP space to structural space and a combined linear + non-linear registration from the individuals structural space to MNI standard space * to use the folder for registration of a new fMRI analysis, copy the contents of this folder into the *.feat/reg folder * when performing a second level analysis, fsl will take the relevant files from this folder and automatically register the statistical image in EPI space to standard space * please refer to the FSL web pages for details about the registration process (http://fsl.fmrib.ox.ac.uk/fsl/fslwiki/) ################################################ ############## Behavioral data #################### ################################################ ############## Description „Trial List“: ############## # Behavioral Data collected in the MRI scanner Subject: Subject number Procedure[Block]: 1 = affect-poor monetary lottery problems; 2 = affect-rich medical lottery problems; 3 = break between runs GambleNo: Gamble number according to Table S1 (Supplemental Material) MagnitudeA: Magnitude of the monetary loss / side effect in option A; note that for affect-rich options, the respective side effect was shown MagnitudeB: Magnitude of the monetary loss / side effect in option B; note that for affect-rich options, the respective side effect was shown pA: Probability of the monetary loss / side effect in option A pB: Probability of the monetary loss / side effect in option B pDecision: Probability of the monetary loss / side effect of the chosen option MagnitudeDecision: Magnitude of the monetary loss / side effect of the chosen option DecisionPhase.RESP: Participant’s response; 1 = option A; 2 = option B EvaluationPhasePosition: Option presented during the evaluation phase: 1 = A = left option; 2 = B = right option RunStartTime: Start of run EvaluationPhase.OnsetTime: Onset time of evaluation phase Interval.OnsetTime: End time of evaluation phase, start of fixation cross between options (duration of fixation cross = between option jitter) BetweenOptionsJitter: Jitter of 3 to 9 seconds between the evaluation and the decision phase (see Fig. 1 in Manuscript) DecisionPhase.OnsetTime: Onset time of lottery choice / drug choice DecisionPhase.RT: Participant’s response time for lottery choice / drug choice Blank.OnsetTime: Onset time of fixation cross between trials (duration of fixation cross = between trial jitter) BetweenTrialJitter: Jitter of 2 to 11 seconds between trials (see Fig. 1 in Manuscript) ############## Description „Monetary Evaluation“: ############## Participants are in columns, monetary evaluations of the side effects in rows, with the monetary equivalent to the side effect ranked as most unpleasant in row 1 and the monetary equivalent to the side effect ranked as least unpleasant in row 4 ############## Description „Affektive Evaluation Monetary Losses“: ############## Participants are in columns, affektive evaluation of the monetary losses in rows, with the affektive evaluation of the highest monetary loss in row 1 and the affektive evaluation of the lowest monetary loss in row 4 ############## Description „Affektive Evaluation Side Effects“: ############## Participants are in columns, affektive evaluation of the side effects in rows, with the affektive evaluation of the side effect ranked as most unpleasant in row 1 and the affektive evaluation of the side effect ranked as least unpleasant in row 4
