These files contain time series of fluid velocity, suspended sediment concentration and water depth measured at Vejers Beach, Denmark in September 2007. The instrument station was mounted near the shorebreak at the bottom of the intertidal zone. The instruments consisted of a 10MHz Sontek ADVField measuring the cross-shore (u), longshore (v) and vertical (w) velocity at an elevation of approximately 3-5 cm above the seabed; a stack of 6 D&A Instruments OBS1-P optical backscatter sensors mounted at nominally z = 5, 10, 15, 20, 15 and 30 cm above the bed, and a Druck PTX1830 pressure sensor. All instruments logged at 16 Hz and instrument records had a duration of 45 minutes. Velocities were defined as positive onshore, to the north and upward. OBS sensors were calibrated using the sand at the instrument station and field offsets have been removed. The columns in the files contain the following: Column 1: Time stamp, seconds Column 2: Cross-shore velocity (u), m/s Column 3: Longshore velocity (v), m/s Column 4: Vertical velocity (w), m/s Column 5: OBS @ 5 cm above the bed, kg/m3 Column 6: OBS @ 10 cm Column 7: OBS @ 15 cm Column 8: OBS @ 20 cm Column 9: OBS @ 25 cm Column 10: OBS @ 30 cm Column 11: Water depth, m The files designated SP were recorded under dominantly spilling breakers: SP_run16 on September 24, 2007, 0928 am SP_run42 on September 30, 2007, 1213 pm SP_run44 on September 30, 2007, 1329 pm The files designated PL were recorded under dominantly plunging breakers: SP_run3 on September 23, 2007, 1022 am SP_run 28 on September 26, 2007, 1022 am SP_run 36 on September 26, 2007, 15.41 pm The dataset has been used in the following journal papers: Jensen, S.G., Aagaard, T., Baldock, T., Kroon, A. and Hughes, M.G., 2009.
