Laminar microcircuitry of visual cortex producing attention-associated electric fields Jacob Westerberg et al., 2021 Associated Data: The dataset available here contains individual session data from two macaque monkeys which performed a color-based visual search task demanding visual attention. Linear multielectrode arrays were positioned orthogonal to the surface of the prelunate gyrus in area V4 such that activity could be recorded across all layers within a cortical column. You will find the following variables in the .mat files: data_LFP - 1-100 Hz bandpass filtered ~1 kHz signal making up the primary dataset. Variable arranged in a 3D matrix where dimensions are channel x sample x trial. 17 channels are included, channels 2-16 are the data used in the associated manuscript where 2-6 are the upper layers of cortex, 7-11 are approximately the middle layers, and 12-16 are approximately the lower layers. Channels 1 and 17 are the channels adjacent which can be used to compute CSD. Samples are ~300 ms prior to visual search array onset to ~300 ms following search array onset. Trial count varies session-by-session. data_extracranial - processed and organized in the same fashion as data_LFP. However, the single channel of data reflects activity recorded outside of cortex rather than within the cortical column. info_Fs - the sampling frequency of data_LFP and data_extracranial. response_time - the subject's behavioral response times for each trial in the task. target_color - the color of the target on each trial where 0=red and 1=green. target_hemifield - the position of the target relative to the extracranial recording site where 0=ipsilateral and 1=contralateral. target_position - the position of the target in the search array in degrees where 0/360 is on the horizontal meridian in the right visual hemifield. target_inRF - whether the target was positioned in the receptive field of the cortical column.
