Abstract
This dataset includes sheep samples of the following breeds: Cameroon Blackbelly, Barbados Blackbelly and Beale Park.
Collection of samples from Cameroon Blackbelly sheep from different geographical localities in Cameroon for genomic analysis, was approved by the Roslin Institute, University of Edinburgh Animal Work Abroad Ethical Review Committee (RI-AWA-14). Sample collection was performed under veterinary supervision and the study as a whole was compliant with the requirements of the Nagoya protocol. The work was performed under a collaboration agreement (ROSLIN1929) between the University of Edinburgh and the University of Dschang and the samples were exported according to export permit 00696 from MINEPIA, authorising exportation of products of animal origin from Cameroon. The Barbados Blackbelly samples from Guadeloupe were collected by INRAE, under the supervision of the local INRAE ethics committee. The Cameroon Blackbelly and Beale Park sheep were genotyped using the Illumina OvineSNP50 BeadChip (version 1) at the Clinical Research Facility at the University of Edinburgh (UK). The Barbados Blackbelly samples from Guadeloupe were genotyped by Neogen (UK) on the Illumina OvineSNP50 BeadChip (version 3).
This dataset includes 50K SNP genotypes for Barbados Blackbelly sheep from Cameroon (BBB_10_50K_OAR3.1* files) and Cameroon Blackbelly sheep from Cameroon and Beale Park sheep from the UK (camshp_ovine50k_v1* files). The Cameroon Blackbelly and Beal Park sheep were genotyped using the Illumina OvineSNP50 BeadChip (version 1) at the Clinical Research Facility at the University of Edinburgh (UK). The Barbados Blackbelly samples from Guadeloupe were genotyped by Neogen (UK) on the Illumina OvineSNP50 BeadChip (version 3). All data is in PLINK format (https://www.cog-genomics.org/plink/); the camshp* files are in text format (camshp_ovine50k_v1.ped and camshp_ovine50k_v1.map) while the BBB* files are in binary format (BBB_10_50K_OAR3.1.bed, BBB_10_50K_OAR3.1.bim, BBB_10_50K_OAR3.1.fam).
