Abstract
We present the Metagenome Assembled Genome of the alkaliphilic Cyanobacterium sp. strain PNNL-SSL1 obtained from Soap Lake (Washington, USA). The PNNL-SSL1 MAG was obtained by sequencing the metagenomes of two xenic cultures dominated by PNNL-SSL1 named SSL1-A and SSL1-B. Sequencing reads were filtered and assembled into contigs as a co-assembly using MEGAHIT (v1.2.9). The co-assembly of PNNL-SSL1 can be found in this dataset.

Description of the data and file structure
The Metagenome Assembled Genome (MAG) of Cyanobacterium sp. strain PNNL-SSL1 was obtained from a co-assembly of its MAGs from two xenic cultures named SSL1-A and SSL1-B. The Sequencing reads were filtered and assembled into contigs as a co-assembly using MEGAHIT (v1.2.9). In this dataset, you can find the co-assembly used in the Microbiology Resource Announcements Journal publication for "Metagenome Assembled Genome of the Alkaliphilic Cyanobacterium sp. PNNL-SSL1".
