Abstract
The synthesis, tabulated infrared and 1H NMR spectra of the title compounds: 3, 7-dithiatricyclo[6.4.0.02,10.09,11]dodecane (norDTCO) and 3λ4, 7-dithiatricyclo[6.4.0.02,10.09,11]dodecan-3-one (norDTCO sulfoxide) are presented. The compound norDTCO is a substituted 1,5-dithiocane which can oxidize chemically or electrochemically by two-electrons to a dication with a transannular S-S sigma-bond. Its derivative, norDTCO sulfoxide, is the ultimate product after a two-electron oxidation and the addition of water.

Description:
This file contains the physical and spectral properties of 3, 7-dithiatricyclo[6.4.0.02,10.09,11]dodecane (norDTCO) and 3-λ4, 7-dithiatricyclo[6.4.0.02,10.09,11]dodecan-3-one (norDTCO sulfoxide). The first part includes the boiling and melting points of norDTCO and its elemental analysis. The second part is the important infrared bands of norDTCO in a KBr pellet. The third part is the 1H NMR resonances at 500 MHz in chloroform-d1. Part 5 is the important infrared bands of neat norDTCO sulfoxide. Part 6 are the 1H NMR resonances at 500 MHz in chloroform-d1.
