Abstract
We conducted a 2x2 randomized factorial pilot trial of two interventions in 84 participants to promote participation in a Food is Medicine program. The two interventions were navigation and text messaging. Participants received the 12-week interventions or a usual care control of a single portal message with instructions for enrolling in the Food is Medicine program. The primary outcome was participant satisfaction with the intervention. The secondary outcome was the number of meal units received within 3 months. The data deposit includes the data, data dictionary, and CONSORT study flow diagram.

Description of the data and file structure
We conducted a 2x2 randomized factorial pilot trial of two interventions in 84 participants to promote participation in a Food is Medicine program. The two interventions were navigation and text-messaging. Participants received the 12-week interventions or a usual care control of a single portal message with instructions for enrolling in the Food is Medicine program. Data was collected at baseline and 3 months, as well as from abstracted electronic health records. This data was collected using funds from the American Heart Association, Award 24FIM1259456.

Data was derived from the following sources:
- participants, electronic health records, staff-entered observations
Human subjects data
Participants provided written, informed consent for the following: "Data generated by this study will be provided to an American Heart Association database, and other databases, in a way that will not reveal any information that could identify you as an individual. This will allow other researchers in the future to confirm the results of this study without compromising your privacy or confidentiality."
Data were de-identified with labeling of dates as days from randomization, randomization by quarter, and calculation of age with an upper limit of 80. Any identifiers in text fields were removed.
This study had two primary times of data collection: baseline and 3 months. Data were participant-reported and study staff-collected through the Eureka Research Platform.
This study also abstracted data about participants' experience in cardiac rehabilitation, which could have occurred before enrollment in the study or during enrollment in the study.
