Abstract
Supporting information for "Enhancing Phosphorus Removal in Bioretention Systems with Water Treatment Residual Amended Soils".
This supporting information incudes the chemical and physicochemical characterization of Aluminum Water Treatment Residuals (Al-WTR) used in both a laboratory column experiment and field scale bioretention cell (BRC) retrofit study. This study set to evaluate the effectiveness of several Al-WTR configurations to enhance phosphorus removal in BRCs. This document also includes influent and effluent water quality data collected during the field experiment monitoring period (May 2020 to October 2020) for a BRC retrofitted with a 1.27 surface application of Al-WTRs. For each sampled pollutant, testing methods and method detection limits are also provided.

Description of the data and file structure
This file provides supplementary information for "Enhancing Phosphorus Removal in Bioretention Systems with Water Treatment Residual Amended Soils". Specifically, this file contains: 1) the assumed chemical and physiochemical characteristics of aluminum water treatment residuals used during this study, 2) influent and effluent water quality data for a BRC amended with a 1.27 cm surface application of aluminum water treatment residuals and 3) testing methods and method detection limits for sampled pollutants are also provided.

Description: Monitored pollutants: Aluminum (Al), Chromium (Cr), Copper (Cu), Escherichia coli (E. Coli), Gross Alpha, Gross Beta, Iron (Fe), Manganese (Mn), Ammonia as Nitrogen (NH₃-N), Nitrate as Nitrogen (NO₃-N), Nitrate as Nitrogen (NO₂-N), Total Kjeldahl Nitrogen (TKN), Total Nitrogen (TN), Dissolved Phosphorus (DP), Total Phosphorus (TP), Potassium (K), Radium 226, Radium 228, Total Suspended Solids (TSS), Uranium (U), and Zinc (Zn). Pollutants not sampled for a particular storm event are denotes with "-" while non-detects below method detection limits are denoted with "ND".
