Abstract
This dataset contains anonymized participant-level data from 25 healthy adults collected to investigate foot biomechanical responses to tibialis anterior muscle contraction. The dataset includes demographic variables, foot dominance, initial hallux valgus angle, hallux valgus angle change, navicular displacement measures, directional movement classifications, and joint kinematic changes following tibialis anterior stimulation. The data are provided in CSV format and can be imported into common spreadsheet and statistical software packages. The dataset may be reused for studies of foot biomechanics, hallux valgus, medial longitudinal arch function, and methodological research involving lower-extremity kinematics. All data have been anonymized in accordance with applicable ethical requirements. Variables that could increase the risk of participant identification have been removed prior to public release.

Description of the data and file structure
This dataset was collected to investigate the effects of tibialis anterior (TA) muscle contraction on the medial longitudinal arch (MLA) and hallux valgus (HV) angle in healthy adults. Electrical stimulation was applied to the TA, and changes in navicular displacement, hallux alignment, and joint kinematics were recorded using noninvasive measurement methods.

Description:
Variables
- Subject_ID: Anonymous participant identifier.
- Sex: Biological sex of the participant (Male/Female).
- Age: Age category (years).
- dominant_foot: Dominant foot (Right/Left).
- HV_angle_initial_deg: Initial hallux valgus angle measured in degrees (deg).
- HV_angle_change_deg: Change in hallux valgus angle following tibialis anterior contraction (deg). Negative values indicate a varus shift.

- Navicular_direction_ap: Direction of navicular movement along the anterior–posterior axis (Anterior/Posterior).
- Navicular_direction_ml: Direction of navicular movement along the medial–lateral axis (Medial/Lateral).
- Navicular_disp_superior_mm: Superior displacement of the navicular bone calculated from accelerometer data (mm).
- Ankle_dorsiflexion_change_deg: Change in ankle dorsiflexion angle (deg).
- Hallux_MTP_change_deg: Change in hallux metatarsophalangeal joint angle (deg).
- Missing values: There are no missing values in this dataset.

Data was derived from the following sources: This dataset was generated by the authors as part of the study and is not derived from any external sources.
Human subjects data
All data were collected from human participants with informed consent in accordance with institutional ethical guidelines. The dataset has been fully anonymized prior to submission. No personally identifiable information (PII), such as names, dates of birth, addresses, or contact information, is included. Participants are identified only by anonymized subject IDs. The combination of variables does not allow identification of individual participants.
