Abstract
This dataset contains cosmogenic ¹⁰Be measurements from two glaciated basins (Sabrina Lake and South Lake) in the Bishop Creek watershed, eastern Sierra Nevada, California. Samples were collected from granodioritic lithologies and include surface bedrock, saprolite, and fluvial sediments, sampled in summer and fall 2022 and fall 2023. Quartz was extracted and purified from all samples prior to ¹⁰Be analysis. Sample preparation was conducted at UC Merced and at the Center for Accelerator Mass Spectrometry (CAMS), Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL). ¹⁰Be/⁹Be ratios were measured by accelerator mass spectrometry at CAMS, LLNL.
The dataset includes sample metadata (site name, coordinates, elevation, sample type, thickness, depth, topographic shielding, assumed density, and collection date), laboratory chemistry data (quartz and ⁹Be carrier masses), AMS measurement data (AMS IDs, raw ¹⁰Be/⁹Be ratios with 1σ uncertainties, and blank-corrected ¹⁰Be concentrations with 1σ uncertainties), and process blank data used for background correction. All samples were normalized to the 07KNSTD standard (¹⁰Be/⁹Be = 2.85 × 10⁻¹², Nishiizumi et al., 2007).

Contains 21 sample rows followed by 3 process blank rows (Blank_ID values 22MBI-Blk-20, Blank_Be_111, Blank_Be_112). Blank rows have no quartz mass and no sample metadata; each sample's "Blank used for background correction" column references the Blank_ID used for its background subtraction.
SAMPLE COLLECTION
Twenty-one samples (saprolite, surface bedrock, and fluvial sediment) were collected from the Sabrina Lake and South Lake basins across three field seasons: summer 2022 (July), fall 2022 (October), and fall 2023 (September). Samples span an elevation range of approximately 2790-3360 m.
SAMPLE PREPARATION AND MEASUREMENT
Quartz was purified at the UC Merced Surface Processes Lab and the LLNL cosmogenic preparation lab, following standard protocols (Kohl & Nishiizumi, 1992). [confirm University of Wyoming's role, or remove] ¹⁰Be/⁹Be ratios were measured at the LLNL Center for Accelerator Mass Spectrometry, normalized to the 07KNSTD standard (¹⁰Be/⁹Be = 2.85×10⁻¹²; Nishiizumi et al., 2007). Three full-chemistry process blanks (22MBI-Blk-20, Blank_Be_111, Blank_Be_112) were processed alongside sample batches and used for background correction.
UNITS AND CONVENTIONS
"¹⁰Be conc. (corrected for background)" is reported in atoms per gram of quartz (atoms g⁻¹) for sample rows. For the three blank rows, this same column reports total atoms of ¹⁰Be measured in the blank (no quartz mass applies to a blank), used as the subtrahend in each sample's background correction. Sample density (2.7 g/cm3) and erosion rate (0 cm/yr) are assumed constants, not independently measured per sample. All uncertainties are reported at 1σ.
