Abstract
Here is presented the dataset for the article "Establishment and rapid spread of social wasps (Hymenoptera: Vespinae) in Greenland". All observations of social wasps (Vespinae) in Greenland between 2016-2024 that could be verified by photos or videos are included in the dataset. The data comes from the collection at the Natural History Museum of Denmark, the main author's (V. Gårdman) private collection and observations sent to Greenland Institute of Natural Resources either by mail or via facebook. No information about the people who recorded their observations nor their pictures are given. The findings used in the article from iNaturalist are also not given, as they do not comply with CC0. These findings can instead be found on iNaturalist.

Description of the data and file structure
Here is presented the dataset for the article "Establishment and rapid spread of social wasps (Hymenoptera: Vespinae) in Greenland". All observations of social wasps (Vespinae) in Greenland between 2016-2024 that could be verified by photos or videos are included in the dataset, with the exception of reports from iNaturalist, as they do not comply with CC0. These findings can instead be found on iNaturalist. The data used comes from the collection at the Natural History Museum of Denmark (NHMD), the main author's (V. Gårdman) private collection, and observations sent to Greenland Institute of Natural Resources (GINR). No information about the people who recorded their observations nor their pictures are given. Date is given as DDMMYY. As exact dates were not always provided by the observer, the year of observation is instead given in a separate column. The column "Site" refers to the name of the town, settlement, or fjord in which the observation was recorded, and is supplemented by observation coordinates (Lat/Lon). The species observed are either Vespula rufa (Linnaeus, 1758) or Dolichovespula norwegica (Fabricius, 1781). Note that we do not separate between D. norwegica and Dolichovespula albida (Sladen, 1918), although they may warrant separate species status. We make no remarks to the affinity of either possible species for our specimens, but treat them as D. norwegica.
