Abstract
SDPY0v1.3 is the Standard Data Product for Year 0 version 1.3 from the PlantPopNet project. It contains demographic census data collected from a single plant species (Plantago lanceolata L.) from several sites through PlantPopNet network, based on the protocol Buckley et al. (2019) PLANTPOPNET Protocol, figshare (https://doi.org/10.6084/m9.figshare.7982477)

Description of the data and file structure:
SDPY0v1.3 contains census data collected from a single plant species (Plantago lanceolata L.) from several sites through PlantPopNet network, based on the protocol Buckley et al. (2019) PLANTPOPNET Protocol, figshare (https://doi.org/10.6084/m9.figshare.7982477)
Coordinates_Oct2020_site_level.csv contains contextual information on the sites included in SDPY0v1.3.
Metadata files for both of the data files are also provided.
Files and variables

Description of variables:
| Name of variable | Variable type | Description |
| site_code | unique | site name, 2 or 3 characters (eg, CH), exact match with site description, destructive samples and community plot |
| transect_lat_start | numerical | Latitude of start of transect. Recorded in + or - decimal degrees |
| transect_long_start | numerical | Longitude of start of transect. Recorded in + or - decimal degrees |
| transect_lat_stop | numerical | Latitude end of transect. Recorded in + or - decimal degrees |
| transect_long_stop | numerical | Longitude end of transect. Recorded in + or - decimal degrees |
| transect | unique | Identifier of transect eg, T1, T2. T3 etc |
| plot | unique | Identifier of plot eg, P1, P2, P3 etc. Maximum of 20 plots per transect; NOTE: May contain duplicates so use unique_plot_id column instead |
| number_seedlings | Integer | Number of seedlings recorded in each plot |
| plant_id | Integer | ID number given to each individual; NOTE: May contain duplicates so use plant_unique_id column |
| x_coord | Integer | Location on the x axis of the individual within the 50cm x 50cm quadrat. Value between 0-50 |
| y_coord | Integer | Location on the y axis of the individual within the 50cm x 50cm quadrat. Value between 0-50 |
| suspected_clone | text | If the individual may be clonal. (yes/no) |
| survival | text | If the individual has survived from the previous year. (yes/no or na for year 0 census) |
| no_rosettes | integer | The number of rosettes forming the individual |
| rosette_ID | integer | The current rosette being measured |
| no_leaves | integer | Number of leaves in the current rosette |
| leaf_length | integer | length of the longest leaf in the current rosette (mm) |
| leaf_width | integer | width at the widest point of the same leaf (mm) |
| no_fl_stems | integer | number of flowering stems in the current rosette |
| fl_stem_height | integer | height of flowering stem (including inflorescence) (mm) |
| inflor_length | integer | length of inflorence (mm) |
| inflor_phenology | text | development stage of the inflorescence. Categories are: Bud, Flowering, Seed developing, Mature seeds, Seeds dispersed |
| disease | text | presence or absence of disease (yes/no) |
| disease_comments | text | any comments relating to disease (yellow spots, mildew etc) |
| herbivory | text | presence or absence of herbivory |
| herbivory_comments | text | any comments relating to herbivory (miners, holes, % of leaf eaten etc) |
| other_comments | text | any other comments you may note about the individual |
| c_year | text | The calendar year of sampling |
| s_year | text | The study year of sampling (Y0, Y1, Y2, Y3 etc. Where Y0 is the first year of sampling) |
| plant_unique_id | text | A unique id number for each individual |
| unique_plot_id | text | Unique plot ID for each plot |
| x_coord_notes | text | notes copied form x_coord column |
