Abstract
These data document the smaller size of Amazonian primary consumers by comparison with their African rainforest counterparts. In particular, Amazonia has conspicuously fewer large folivorous species. Late-Quaternary anthropogenic extinctions (discussed in the Biotropica article) account for most size and trophic mismatches between these otherwise similar Recent faunas.
